Beth’s role:

Award-winning science and literacy app for children and families to play together, grades K-2. Families use their Superpowers of Science to investigate animals. Families find out where animals live, what they eat, how fast they move, what covers their bodies, and more! Then they use the information to find a heroic sidekick for a super-powered hamster.
Beth’s role:
Co-designed the game concept with community members; consulted throughout development.

PBS Math Club:
Innovative series of middle school math videos. Using live action, engaging scenarios, and humor to teach key math concepts and skills.
Beth’s role:
Education consultant, advised on math pedagogy and presentation.

DREAMS – Destiny Rules Everything Around Me:
Curriculum to support development of positive racial identities within students, grades 4-12. Developed for a school district with a multi-racial, multi-ethnic population.
Beth’s role:
Curriculum developer; collaborated with school staff and contractors.

Encampment for Citizenship

Encampment Summer Program:
A multicultural, residential, social justice summer program, grades 9-12. Originally developed in the aftermath of World War II, the program was re-envisioned and rebooted in the 21st century.
Beth’s role:
Board member and program committee. Co-designed the new program and worked with staff and youth. Co-facilitated workshops to develop the board. Designed and co-facilitated inaugural intergenerational program.

Encampment for Citizenship

Encampment Youth Participatory Evaluation: 
Teens in the Encampment program were empowered and trained to evaluate their summer program and report their findings.
Beth’s role:
Curriculum developer, evaluator, and trainer, using participatory methodologies.

Cornerstones Junior Summer Program week 1 schedule

Cornerstones Summer Program:
Academic summer program for teens at North Hennepin Community College in Minnesota. Providing a college-preparatory experience for underserved youth.
Beth’s role:
Curriculum developer and program manager. Created the content; oversaw staff, schedule, and overall program.

A Transformative Framework for Early STEM Learners: 
Peer-reviewed framework for developing educational media for young children in ways that  support diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Beth’s role:
Co-developed the framework. Trained script writers, TV producers, and other media developers to use the framework to inform their work.

Professional Learning for Tennessee State Standards for elementary reading and language arts teachers

Professional Learning for the Tennessee State Standards: 
Interactive professional development training for educators, K-5 reading and language arts. Based on state and national standards.
Beth’s role:
